We Will Promote the Belogradchik Rocks among the Korean Art Elite

SeverozapazenaBulgaria.com became a general partner of the festival of contemporary Korean art

SeverozapazenaBulgaria.com is one of the general partners of the forthcoming first edition of the festival of contemporary Korean art Pulse of South Korea. The event is organized by the Doma Art foundation and is part of a large-scale culture exchange project within which a different country presents its most notable contemporary artists in Sofia each year, with Bulgarian artists presenting in the relevant country the following year.

The Pulse of South Korea festival will be unveiled in Sofia on May 30 and will go on to June 9. The events will be held at the National Art Gallery, Vivacom Art Hall, the National Art Academy, and Factory 12. There is no entry fee. South Korean artists from all art genres will arrive in Bulgaria – painters, sculptors, dancers, musicians, performers. The festival agenda includes exhibitions, lectures, movies, discussions, and on Child’s Day, June 1, the agenda is focused on activities for the little ones.

The Pulse of South Korea is held with the institutional support of the Ministry of Culture, Sofia Municipality /as part of the program Sofia – Europe’s Culture Capital 2019/, the Korean embassy in Bulgaria, the St. Lucas National Secondary School for Applied Arts, the National Art Academy, the National Art Gallery, and the Center of Korean Studies at the Sofia University. 15 of the best known contemporary Korean artists are arriving in Bulgaria to participate in the festival’s program. These include the world-famous performer Yozmit, who took part together with Marina Abramovich and David Lachapelle in MoMa – the Museum of Modern Art in New Yorkm and won the grand prize for costume at the Viennese Ball 2012. The festival’s official opening will take place on 30.05.2013 at 18:30 hrs. At the National Art Gallery.

On the invitation of SeverozapazenaBulgaria.com a large part of the visiting Korean artists will visit Belogradchik and the Belogradchik Rocks. The site is partner of the events, which aim to not only trigger interest for modern and traditional Korean art, but also boost the cultural, diplomatic and then economic exchange between the two countries. On their part, our partners from the Doma Fest foundation support SeverozapazenaBulgaria.com’s idea to promote the natural and cultural riches.
