More than 2 000 people witnessed the first Bulgarian performance of the legendary heavy metal band Divlje Jagode. The concert went on for over 2 hours at the Bdintsi square in Vidin and was part of this year’s biker fest in the city. The main event organizers were Vidin Municipality, the North West Motors – Vidin motor club. As expected, many bikers from other towns in the region were also present.
The group’s fans saw one of the first performances of the band’s new lead vocalist – the Croat Livio Berak, who is well known for being part of the band Rat bendova In recent year the bass player Golden Cehic and the lead vocalist Marko Osmanovic had left the band.
Apart from the cult-status song Motori, which was performed several times amidst the roaring bikes parked around and in front of the stage, the fans also heard and headbanged to Autostop, Krivo je more, Konji, Zauvek tvoj, Jedina moja, Shampioni After the concert the fans patiently waited to get autographs from the band members and take photos with them. The band members were pleasantly surprised that the audience would sing many of the songs with them and said they wanted to visit Vidin again.
Thus, after their first performance in Bulgaria Divlje jagode move on to their next stage – the Serbian town of Negotin, which is just 50 km away from Vidin.
Divlje Jagode was established in the now-distant 1977 in the city of Bihac, Bosnia and Herzegovina, in the former Yugoslavia. The musicians are considered heavy metal pioneers, and are nowadays among the most popular rock music icons in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Balkans. After 36 years on stage Divlje jagode have recorded 12 studio albums and have sold more than 4 million records.
